Wonder what really goes on at a publishing house’s editorial board meeting? Curious to know what you can do to increase the chances that your manuscript will be accepted for publication? Not sure what you can do to promote your book once it comes off press? Lissa Warren, Vice President, Senior Director of Publicity and Acquiring Editor at Cambridge’s Da Capo Press and author of The Savvy Author’s Guide to Book Publicity, will be on hand to give you the inside scoop on what really happens before a book is acquired and how you can help get the word out about your book after it hits stores. She’ll cover everything from creating a platform to generating press material to building an author website, and will even hit on what to do if your book isn’t getting the attention it deserves.

Lissa Warren has worked at several Boston publishing houses including David R. Godine, Houghton Mifflin, and Perseus Publishing, and is currently Vice President, Senior Director of Publicity and Acquiring Editor at Da Capo Press, a member of the Perseus Books Group (Publishers Weekly’s 2007 Publisher of the Year). She is the author of The Savvy Author's Guide to Book Publicity. Since 2003 she has been an Adjunct Professor at Emerson College —in their Writing, Literature, and Publishing program. She also teaches in Boston University 's publishing certificate program and is on the advisory council to the M.F.A. writing program at Southern New Hampshire University. Ms. Warren holds a B.S. in English Education from Miami University and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Bennington College .

Donna Russo Morin's debut novel, The Courtier's Secret (Kensington, Feb 2009) is featured in the 16th annual publication of Reading Group Choices 2010. This historical fiction has also just been released in a hard cover, large print edition.

Lisa Mondello's 3rd Love Inspired Suspense novel Yuletide Protector will be released 12/09 by Steeple Hill.

Patricia Grasso's MARRYING THE MARQUIS (November 2008) is a finalist in the Aspen Gold Readers choice contest.  Three of her books recently sold to Japan.

Sarah Atwell's third book in her Glassblowing Mystery Series was released on September 1, 2009!

Join Emily Bryan for a 12 Days of Christmas Blog tour to celebrate the release of A CHRISTMAS BALL! Emily's tour will start on Sept 14th and runs till A CHRISTMAS BALL's release date on September 29th. An excerpt from TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE by Kristan Higgins was featured on NPR during a story about the RWA National conference in July.

Terri Brisbin is thrilled to announce that she's been invited into an anthology for Kensington Brava with Susan Johnson as the lead author. The novella will be connected to her Brava trilogy (which debuts in December 2009) and is set in medieval Scotland. The anthology will be a May 2010 release. Terri is also holding a website contest to celebrate the release of her HIGHLANDER trilogy this summer, giving away 10 sets of the HM&B trilogy which includes TAMING THE HIGHLANDER, SURRENDER TO THE HIGHLANDER and POSSESSED BY THE HIGHLANDER.
